I am Barbara Hayes, born and raised on a beautiful farm outside of Pavo, Georgia. I love the story within a work of art, especially a story that moves and causes one to think. There is something special about a work of art that captures a moment in time. Yet that moment displays life, this is what inspires me! I am focused on creating bold colorful works of art, this allows me to showcase my inward feelings.

I have had the pleasure to sit with artist, Paul Goodnight in his Piano Factor surrounded by great artist such as himself. Those sessions opened the door to new techniques where I have now incorporated into my own oils on canvas.

Barbara has earned jurist awards for her art by former Mayor K. H. White, and jurist panels such as the Beacon Hill Artist Society, of Boston, Massachusetts. Her work, “The Last Unicorn,” adorns the wall of one of the homes of the late and former United States Surgeon General and Secretary of Health, Julius B. Richmond, M.D. and a commissioned work inspired by retired Boston Fire Captain, Martin Andrews. She has earned Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees.

I am Barbara Hayes; I am an artist in love with art.

Barbara resides in Avon, Massachusetts.
